Description
Facilities and Layout
This lovely, traditional Savoyard chalet has been refurbished to a high standard and is built on three levels.
Salon - The warm, comfy and spacious sitting/dining room has an impressive log burning fire. Here you can relax with an aperitif and canapés before enjoying a wonderful home cooked dinner, and whiling away the rest of the evening in the company of your fellow guests.
Balcony - French windows lead on to a generous balcony stretching round most of the building and from here you can enjoy magnificent views of the Giffre Valley and surrounding mountains.
Sitting room - A smaller separate sitting room can be used for reading, cards, watching TV, a video, a DVD, or just relaxing.
Bedrooms - The six ensuite bedrooms are equipped with super king size beds, five of which can be used as twin beds. Two bedrooms can take a third bed and a cot can be supplied for very young children sharing their parents' room.
Games and exercise room - This is on the ground floor and is an ideal place for you to get fit or for your children to play. Books, games, CDs, DVDs and videos will all be available for you to use throughout your holiday.
Sauna suite - This is equipped with a shower and WC and offers a great chance to refresh and relax.
Ski and board storage and a huge drying room, are available on the ground floor.
Ample parking for up to 8 cars.
A large flat garden where a circular, five and a half meter pool is set up for use in the late spring and summer.
Location
Samoëns is a very attractive village, situated in the Giffre Valley of Haute Savoie, only an hour from Geneva airport. It is the only ski resort in France to be listed as 'Monument Historique' and retains the qualities of a real French village.
It is situated in beautiful countryside and much has been done to make it an attractive holiday place without destroying its very important historical and cultural features.
The village has the advantage over some other resorts of being truly French in nature rather than a complex of buildings built only to provide for winter sports. Here, you can experience the real France, as well as enjoying a winter sports or summer holiday.
Chalet Marie Stuart is situated in a small hamlet 1 km from the village, but is only 800 meters in-between both lifts to Samoens 1600.
Notes
No Smoking in the chalet but there is a covered balcony where ashtrays are provided.
